چکیده
Abstract Background Controversy persists regarding the superiority of partial nephrectomy (PN) versus radical (RN) in pT2a renal cell carcinoma (RCC) tumors. In this study we aimed to compare survival and clinical outcomes between these two techniques Iran. Methods retrospective cohort, 96 patients who underwent either RN or PN for their RCC tumors were included. Overall (OS), cancer specific (CSS), recurrence free (RFS), major postoperative complications function compared, subsequently. Results During a mean follow-up time 57.3 ± 24.0 months, OS, CSS, RFS, bleeding, urinary leak, prolonged wound drainage length hospital stay not statistically different ( p = .09, .42, .27, .06 .78, respectively). Nevertheless, post-operative creatinine was significantly lower compared .01). Our multivariable cox regression models indicated that higher Fuhrman grade detrimentally affected CSS < .01) increased risk .02). Moreover, prior history ischemic heart disease (IHD) significant determinant OS .03) RFS Conclusions conclusion, our data suggested although similar RN, may offer better can be thus regarded as superior approach

Frequency of capsular invasion and prenephric fat infiltration in renal cell carcinoma after partial nephrectomy
Background and Objective: Nowadays, partial nephrectomy (PN) has specific indications in renal tumors. There are challenges regarding the remaining and seeding of malignant cells after surgery due to increasing tendency to do laparoscopic PN (LPN) and consequently increased manipulation of the surrounding tumor tissue. The objective of this study is to investigate the frequency of renal capsule...
متن کاملLaparoscopic radical nephrectomy for renal cell carcinoma.
PURPOSE To estimate the efficacy of the laparoscopic radical nephrectomy we analyzed the clinical data of our series. PATIENTS AND METHODS One hundred eighty five patients were enrolled in our laparoscopic radical nephrectomy program between July, 1992 and July, 2001. Of the 185 patients, 146 had small renal tumors (smaller than 5 cm in diameter) and 39 had large tumors (equal to or more than...

PURPOSE To assess the treatment outcome of pT1a renal tumors, comparing overall survival (OS) in patients treated with radical nephrectomy (RN) and partial nephrectomy (PN), and to examine the rate of utilization of PN in a tertiary institution in Serbia. METHODS Included were patients treated for pT1a kidney tumors with open RN or open PN during 1996-2013. The inclusion criterion was the pat...

OBJECTIVE To compare the efficiency and safety of the transperitoneal approaches with retroperitoneal approaches in laparoscopic partial nephrectomy for renal cell carcinoma and provide evidence-based medicine support for clinical treatment. METHODS A systematic computer search of PUBMED, EMBASE, and the Cochrane Library was executed to identify retrospective observational and prospective ran...
متن کاملRadiofrequency Ablation Versus Partial Nephrectomy in Treating Small Renal Tumors
Radiofrequency ablation (RFA) has emerged as an alternative treatment to surgical partial nephrectomy (PN) in the treatment of small renal tumors (SRTs). But its safety and oncological efficacy are still controversial. We conducted this systematic review and meta-analysis to compare the peritoperative and oncological outcomes of RFA and PN in the treatment of SRTs. Pubmed, EMBASE, Cochrane CENT...
